Moshannon Valley Vikings Gear Up for Another Championship Run

The Moshannon Valley Vikings are back—and they're not just here to play, they’re here to dominate.

Coming off an undefeated 2024 season that ended in their second Keystone Bowl Championship, the MOVA Vikings are entering 2025 with fire, focus, and fresh talent. Already starting this season 2-0, the team is in a "reload" phase, blending veteran experience with one of the strongest rookie classes in their history.

A Physical Team with High-Octane Offense

Head Coach Thor Marlow leads a team that plays a physical brand of football while boasting skill athletes across the board. Known for their high-scoring offense and relentless defense, the Vikings are built to win matchups in the trenches and perform as a cohesive unit on every snap.

Veteran Leadership and Standout Stars

Team captains Malik Breon (#2), Leondrei Fenderson (#90), Jimmy Werner (#92), Billy Thompson (#3), Khalil Bell (#1), and Holden Wallace (#44) form a strong leadership core. Breon, a GEFA legend with 8 All-Star seasons and multiple awards, continues to be a dominant force. At quarterback, Billy “The Kid” Thompson is guiding the offense with confidence, while linebacker Khalil Bell and linemen Jimmy Werner and Stevie Eisenhuth anchor a stout defense.

In the secondary, returning talents like Jaryd Servidea and Andre Dokes keep the passing game in check. This year’s rookie class, including Micah Beish and Landyn Evans (Mo Valley), Tommy and Jamal Hicks (Tyrone), Aiden Charles, Tom Buchanan, and Clint Thurston, adds depth and explosiveness. Even the coaching staff sees fresh blood with the addition of rookie assistant coach Gene Hicks.

Games to Watch and Rivalries to Settle

Circle your calendars—home games against the Legends, Wildcats, Buffaloes, and Tomahawks promise to be some of the most exciting matchups this season. But it’s the Keystone Bowl that remains the ultimate target.

The Vikings also renew rivalries with their fierce conference foes, the Tomahawks and the Comanche, during the regular season.

More Than Just Football

What sets this team apart isn’t just what they do on the field—it's the brotherhood and community involvement off the field. From volunteering at youth football camps and school programs to having players who serve as firefighters and military personnel, the MOVA Vikings are deeply connected to their community.

They also know how to have fun together. Their annual rookie talent show, held the Saturday before each season kicks off, is a beloved team tradition that brings laughter and camaraderie.

Why They Play

Coach Marlow puts it best: “We love the sport. We love having a hobby that promotes a healthy lifestyle while also giving us an outlet. We help keep football alive on the legendary Memorial Field in Philipsburg, drawing fans from across the state.”

With free admission to all home games and exciting matchups every Saturday, the Moshannon Valley Vikings are offering more than football—they’re offering a show. Fast, physical, and full of heart, this is football at its fiercest.
